Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Performs any combination of the following tasks in the foundry: melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing castings, dressing castings, moving foundry materials, and cleaning equipment and work areas. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Operation of material handling equipment including forklifts, hoists, cranes, and other mobile equipment

• Daily cleaning of work areas and manufacturing equipment

• Manual assembly of flasks and molding accessories

• Use of basic hand tools to operate and maintain equipment

• Operation of measuring devices including scales, measuring tape, calipers, and temperature guns

• Read and follow process instructions to manufacture metal castings

• Operation of grinding and cleaning tools

• Flexibility of schedule to work alternate shifts as needed

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Must have great attention to detail, be results-oriented, and able to work effectively with all others to resolve issues

• Must possess the ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions
