Description
The Technical Writer will get involved in a wide variety of activities within PRI to ensure that employees and customers have access to clear and concise written information about employment, products, technical specifications, and other key documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
- Fully define, plan and implement “PRI University”. The purpose of this program will be to ensure that PRI has the most highly trained and capable workforce in our business as well as be a key recruiting tool for new candidates in all job positions. This will include a position specific training curriculum, an employee by employee development plan and a regular reporting system.
- Serve as the ISO quality system administrator. Working with all employees, ensure we have regular, meaningful internal audits and regular ISO training. As we convert and upgrade ERP systems, ensure procedures are kept up to date.
- Document management – serve as the overall document manager ensuring that technical literature, procedures, etc. are all properly documented, filed, formatted etc. to ensure accuracy, timeliness and organized file keeping.
- Lead/participate in an effort to convert older paper files to electronic files.
- Provide technical writing support for IOM manuals as required.

- All PRI safety policies should be taken seriously and followed accordingly
- PRI Project Flow Process
- Good general project management practices including MS Project, Budgeting tools, resource management tools and others as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical writing or a related field. Alternately, practical technical writing experience in a related field.
- Highly detailed and analytical work approach focused on system design.
- Highly organized and expert with database and spreadsheet software.
- Experience in Technical writing, document management, and related fields.
- The ability to learn enough about PRI equipment to competently create technical literature.
- The ability to create well formatted, clear, visual documents that effectively communicate information about our products, technologies, processes and procedures.
- Willingness and ability to attend schools, classes and/or seminars to learn about PRI specific technologies and practices. Examples would be ISO auditing, training program development or basics of bio-safety.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiar with good manufacturing practices, biosafety levels, laboratory design, process and utility design and waste management
- Ability for occasional travel – domestic and international
