SUMMARY:  Reporting to the Weld Shop Supervisor, the welder is responsible to operate and maintain welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Layout, position, align and fit components into welding fixture as instructed. 
• Set-up gas-shield mig-welder and weld parts to job specifications. 
• Use basic understanding of blueprints and welding symbols to complete job assignment. 
• Use hand tools, clamps, and grinders to perform job tasks. 
• Complete basic maintenance on welding equipment. 
• Other duties as needed and assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Experience/Education Required:

• 1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
• 2. One (1) year of related experience and/or training.
• 3. Good mathematical skills and ability to read tape measure and blueprints
• 4. Must have demonstrated skill level of wire feed (M.I.G.) welding.
• 5. Able to use an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch.
• 6. Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
• 7. Able to work any shift 
• 8. Good work ethic
• 9. Willing to learn and take direction.
