Italian Rose Garlic Products, a Lakeview Farms company is the category leading producer of fresh produce-based salsa in North America. We offer branded, private label, contract manufactured and food service salsa products in addition to a variety of dips, spreads and sauces.
We are currently looking for hard-working and reliable individuals to join our team as Manufacturing Supervisors on our 1st shift. The opportunity will be at our fast-paced manufacturing facility located in Riviera Beach, FL.
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for all production operations in the area/shift assigned
Responsibilities
- Execute the production schedule as written & ensure all product is manufactured according to specification
- Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure that materials are utilized in a cost-effective fashion. Monitor the manufacturing process to ensure the waste and/or overfill is not excessive, that ingredients are not wasted, and that product meets specifications is not discarded
- Distribute available human resources efficiently. Use good judgement in filling vacancies –or not- as situation demands. Use overtime when necessary to fill vacancies –or not-as the situation demands.
- Ensure that employees assigned to your shift are trained properly and are qualified for the task assigned. Arrange for appropriate training to address perceived deficiencies. Ensure that you have sufficient employees cross trained in other positions to enable flexible and cost-effective use of labor.
- Ensure that GMPs are adhered to on your shift. Maintain housekeeping as benefits Best in class manufacturing operations. Ensure that the employees assigned to your shift adhere to GMPs and use appropriate corrective action when necessary
- Ensure that safe practices are followed by employee on your shift, that unsafe conditions are recognized and corrected. Report all injuries following standard company guidelines.
- Ensure that employees assigned to your shift operate all manufacturing equipment/machinery following designated guidelines. Ensure equipment is not abused or misused in any fashion.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed. This includes attendance, vacation and personal days and other administrative guidelines.
- Ensure that all production records and documents are correctly and promptly completed
- Ensure that an orderly transition occurs between your shift and the one preceding and/or following. Ensure your shift starts and ends in an orderly fashion.
- Complete the documents designed to provide detailed information about key events, actions and corrections on your shift
- Ensure that employees assigned to your shift are properly punched in and out properly with payroll.
- Practice positive recognition on your shift as a means to motivate your team members to higher levels of performance.
- Be the liaison for all employee questions and issues after consulting with the HR manager, if necessary. Don’t just send to HR be engaged to practice and policy on behalf of your employees.
- Prepare reports to show all manufacturing KPIs such as materials variance and yield, line efficiencies, product quality reports, labor cost, safety index, etc. Provide analysis and action plans.
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma or a GED. A bachelor’s degree in any technical area is strongly recommended. Food Manufacturing experience and/or a Bachelor's degree in any engineering field is a plus.
- At least 8 Years as a Supervisor in a manufacturing plant.
- Understanding of manufacturing safety, food safety, food plant GMPs and requirements
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing.
- Computer literacy required: Outlook, Word, Excel. Be able to prepare Shift Reports
- Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
- Must be able to work OT, whether unscheduled or on Saturdays or Sundays
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment with temperatures at 38 F to 45 F and strong food odors from fresh cut produce.
- Excellent reading and writing communication.
- Basic math knowledge.
