Position Overview: Ensures that the organization has the supplies and inventory it needs according to schedule. Assists in purchasing materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information. Communicates with suppliers about the status of purchase orders, problem-solves to reduce impact of late shipments. Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.

Essential Job Functions
- Act as an agent for the company within the limits of authority delegated.
- Coordinates purchasing activities by reviewing requirements and working with other departments to have materials when needed.
- Continually review prices and pricing trends for product categories assigned. Secures the lowest possible price available through the economics of volume procurement by combining purchases.
- Review opportunities and initiate action for new sources of supply and suitability of materials.
- Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery – may include expediting.
- Assist with administrative functions necessary to return and/or replace rejected material in a timely manner to support the production function.
- Collaborates with all departments in planning for future and existing requirements necessary to support internal and external customers.
- Works closely with project managers, and supervisors to keep them apprised of major problems affecting delivery or quality of products.
- Assists with implementation of long-term agreements in materials.
- Reviews purchasing records to ensure accuracy and follow through.
- Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
- Performs other functions not specifically listed above but required by administrative practice on management directive.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study.
- 0 - 2 years of related experience.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of location will be considered.

- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills, including computer proficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications and other applicable SC systems.
