Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The primary function of this position is to support the daily operations of the feed mill ensuring accurate feed ordering processes and keep accurate records of sales, feed ingredient purchases, and provide a high level of service to customers, suppliers and animal specialists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle direct payments and prepare bank deposits
- Create sales invoices and manage daily billing
- Post and maintain invoices to inventory records and check purchase invoices for accuracy against shipping receipts and purchase orders
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of feed products and services to assist customers effectively
- Handle customer inquiries promptly via phone calls and walk-in visits, providing excellent service
- Adhere to feed safety and quality standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with producers, veterinarians, and nutritionists
- Assist in ordering feed ingredients and manage supplier relationships
- Utilize feed management software for inventory control, order entry, and to complete daily billing tasks
- Update product pricing as directed by purchaser instructions
- Maintain up-to-date records of livestock diets and implement updates as directed by nutritionists
- Organize and maintain Veterinary Feed Directives
- Uphold cooperative policies and enforce and uphold the cooperative’s credit policy
- Other office duties as assigned
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma and 1-2 years accounting/office management experience is preferred
- Must have strong mathematical skills and be detail oriented
- Must possess and maintain a Class D driver’s license
- Computer and data entry skills
- Must be able to follow directions and effectively communicate with others
- Agriculture background preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work around feed and grain dust
- Sitting for extended periods of time; moderate walking and standing
- Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the position
