Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with market research knowledge to inform timely business decision and strategy development, influence new product development and decisions concerning the product life cycle. Data analysis focused on trends and details in orders, sales, and profit. Development of insights to improve customer segmentation, target market, product positioning and determining optimal business models. Supporting development of analysis for presentations for senior leadership.
Main Duties:
- Interacts with customer, sales and marketing personnel, cross-functional departments and customers regarding sales and orders.
- Use product line data to perform analysis in Excel on orders, sales, and profitability.
- Evaluate trends in data for forecasting and suggestions for business improvements.
- Effectively communicate insights through charts, tables, and other elements for data visualization to report to senior leadership.
- Develops knowledge and expertise in competitor analysis, customers’ products and applications for target market segments.
- Define and implement pricing strategies in line with market opportunities and assist Business Line Manager to develop market forecast, strategic and operating plans and drive product cost reduction initiatives.
- Support development of market trends & competitive analysis, identifying areas or opportunities for growth.
- Support cross-functional team in improving and maintaining product configuration databases.
- Review business models and inventory stock health, suggesting paths for optimization.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:
Required: Bachelor’s degree technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Science and a minimum of 3 years of experience in applicable field or industry, ideally in Refining, Chemical, or Industrial applications.
Preference: MBA, MS in Business Analysis, MS in Data Science, or equivalent experience preferred.
Knowledge of:
Basic Design and manufacturing principals, Bills of material, Transportation Marketing and sales principles, methods and practices; applications and sales territories; technical product applications and documentations; customer service principles, practices and procedures.
Skills:
Proficient at computer usage and related software programs; confident with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and all other Microsoft Office tools. Must have the writing and oral skills to be able to prepare high quality reports and present complex ideas in front of customers and management in English.
Ability to:
Identify market and customer needs and make recommendations; research pricing, shipping and discounting terms and conditions by product line and account; exercise initiative in independently researching and resolving inquiries and problems; prepare clear and concise business correspondence; organize, assign and coordinate work to meet scheduled deadlines including preparation of samples and test reports; make mathematical computations quickly and accurately; understand and follow written and verbal instructions; communicate and work cooperatively with co-workers, departmental representatives, sales representatives, management, customers and vendors. Analyze data for trends on business to develop and present insights to leadership team.
Special Requirements:
May be required to travel up to 25% on company business to interact with customers.
