                             Experienced Nut Former 

Department:  Machine Shop

Position Summary: Operates nut forming machines. Moves control to cycle machine through settings, stopping the machine and adjusting to positions and machine controls to allow for operating factors such as timing, and the clearance between moving parts. Positions and secures heading wire onto stock feeding mechanism. Adjust specific tooling and transfer fingers at each station. Start machine, observes the operation and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machine conforms to specifications. Inspects parts using micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools, to ensure compliance with specifications. Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed and tooling instruction on type tooling required. Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Reporting Relationships: Director of Manufacturing and Plant Manager

Position Requirements:  Requires full work time only. 8 hours a shift- Monday to Friday- overtime expected depending on production needs. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
