Summary
The Production Control Coordinator will execute the manufacturing schedule by generating and distributing shop floor packets, implementing changes to the schedule as required, and communicating all plans and changes in a timely manner. They will also validate and reconcile the MRP system and production reports. In addition, the Production Control Coordinator should identify part shortages and implement recovery plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate manufacturing schedule and coordinate the availability and controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements
- Performs shop order release/closure in MRP System and reconcile parts
- Provide detailed status of work in progress, material availability, and communicate constraints to schedule
- Prepare work orders for the production of parts based on the production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements
- Coordinate interdepartmental activity with stockroom, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, and shipping
- Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders
- Work cross functionally to expedite any material shortages with purchasing, receiving, quality, and other production areas
- Implement material stocking strategy and maintain proper floor stock
- Monitor the flow of jobs through Production and partner with Production to ensure work completes on time to schedule
- Monitor the velocity of the disposition of NCMR’s
- Enter material transactions in ERP system
- Process scrap and obsolete inventory as required
- Prepare for, conduct and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts
- Work with Production and Purchasing teams to resolve part discrepancies
- Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, and good decision making skills
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Ability to write reports, and business correspondence.
- Possess knowledge and experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Ability to successfully work in a cross-functional team.
- Ability to effectively present information via spreadsheets, and computer software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to timely respond to questions from managers, production supervisors, production personnel and customers.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates Degree, Certificate Program or advanced training in production planning or scheduling strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2-4 years prior experience working in the capacity of production planning, scheduling or similar experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment required.
