Requirements
The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling all manufacturing assets to ensure customer orders are built on time while optimizing operational efficiency.
Core Competencies:
- Experience with continuous production operations.
- Working knowledge of scheduling software and production and inventory control systems.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with most common software packages.
Behavioral Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively interact with various levels of management and production teams both within and outside the organization.
- Proven leadership, decision making, effective communication, problem solving skills and negotiation skills.
Technical Competencies:
- APICS Certification preferred.
- 3-5 years planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Excel proficiency with ability to construct Macros within Excel.
- Prior use of Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule the manufacturing of all products at the site to meet customer requested shipping dates.
- Optimize operational efficiency and maximize asset throughput by organizing manufacturing campaigns of similar products.
- Assist the supply chain manager with procurement of all raw materials and packaging.
- Manage finished goods inventories to meet company policies and financial metrics.
- Support R&D requests for sample material by scheduling and coordinating trial work.
- Support supply chain by assisting with month end activities and physical inventories.
- Prepare a weekly asset capacity report to review with sales and manufacturing groups.
- Monitor daily production (yield, uptime, material usage) and make appropriate scheduling adjustments when needed.
- Be available for on call support (nights and weekends).
- Support other resources as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Three to five plus years previous production planning experience
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment for multiple hours throughout the day.
- Primarily sedentary with frequent walking and standing.
