Position Summary

Position Summary: This position plays a crucial role in connecting our organization with the local community. Your primary responsibility is for building relationships with Community partners, trade schools, high schools, colleges, administrators, and students across the State of Michigan. The primary objective is to create engagement, raise awareness, and provide opportunities for potential Technician students to join our apprenticeship and co-op programs. By collaborating with our current Training programs, the Outreach role contributes to attracting the next generation of Technicians to join the MacAllister Family of Companies (MFC). This position offers a fulfilling opportunity to establish or re-establish careers for individuals motivated by hands-on problem-solving.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Recruiting:
    • Partner with management to develop and execute strategic recruiting plans and processes to attract talented technicians.
    • Identify diverse recruiting sources and assess new talent.
    • Develop innovative methods to attract potential candidates.
  2. Community Engagement:
    • Act as an ambassador for our organization when reaching out to candidates.
    • Represent our organization professionally when contacting candidates, including cold calling for positions.
    • Create grassroots efforts within the community to build a strong technician pipeline.
  3. Program Execution:
    • Implement existing technician recruitment programs, such as ThinkBIG and The MacAllister Technician School.
    • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand talent needs and ensure goals are met.
  4. Administrative Tasks:
    • Maintain applicant information, interview data, and update the Applicant Tracking System.
    • Ensure compliance with recruiting processes and applicant data according to OFCCP guidelines.
    • Participate in community outreach, onboarding, job fairs, and related tasks.
Position Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience, Seeking candidates with a background in skilled trades operations and / or HR.
  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships with high schools, trade schools, colleges, administrators, and potential candidates.
  • Reliable transportation for 50-60% travel to career events and schools within Michigan.
  • Frequent Travel with overnights.
  • Occasional Travel outside of Michigan will be required.
  • Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Proficient organizational skills and ability to adapt to high pace environments.
Other Requirements of Position
  • Works under general supervision. Employees act independently to handle standard problems but usually reports on such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
