General Description:
The welder helper position is responsible for performing general labor work along with assisting the certified process welders in performing their tasks. Welder helpers must apply sound judgement and understanding when carrying out detailed or uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. Must have the ability to analyze and handle problems. Must have the ability to read and retain knowledge, part of the training provided on the job will be how to interpret safety manuals and warning signs, drawings,
specifications, rigging diagrams and lifting capacity charts for equipment and load carrying parts. Must display capable oral communication skills and have the ability to provide and receive oral safety warnings, instructions and task assignments. companies. Range depending on experience: Entry Level $24 per hour - Experienced $30 per hour

• Learn and understand what it takes to ensure a safe work environment.
• Participate in CCI’s STEPBACK safety program and stay compliant with online training modules in Virtual Training Assistant (VTA/EHS). Review and comply with the various Client’s safety programs.
• Your responsibility includes representing the Company in a professional manner at all times.
• Assist in construction activities including, cutting, prepping and aligning piping and structural steel component, cleaning and organizing shop and facility sites, identifying and selecting proper material per engineered spec, assisting the journeyman welders and fitters in completing the process, hydrostatic testing and cleaning of piping systems. Final torque and alignment of flanged systems including valves and other equipment.
• Assist in loading and unloading of material and equipment for mobilization.
• Observe and learn the trade of the journeyman you will be paired with. Develop the skill set needed to perform tasks unassisted.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to use a band saw, mag drill, grinder, handheld portable drill, read a tape measure, and other applicable hand tools/power tools.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
