This position oversees inventory across multiple distribution centers for staging orders. This individual will work with management and other cross functional teams to ensure inventory levels are correct for the staging orders. In addition, the position creates, maintains and analyzes daily reports for key company metrics. This position will be the primary backup for Dropships. Other responsibilities include monitoring the Purchasing Support email box and providing timely responses, collecting and tracking department key metrics, tracking lines alternate sourced, and tracking forward buy savings. Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information. Works with management to problem solve all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. Requires domestic or global expertise of assigned commodities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines and maintains appropriate inventory levels for assigned items using requisitioning system. Places orders and monitors orders through receipt. Takes action necessary to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products to distribution centers for all staging orders
- Primary backup for the Dropship Purchase Orders which includes creation of orders, monitoring of orders, cancelling orders, and communicating between inside sales and the vendors
- Communicates product availability issues on key items to sales teams and marketing on a regular basis.
- Monitors the Purchasing Support email box and assures all requests are resolved in a timely manner.
- Collects and tracks department key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, monthly and ad-hoc basis and identifies trends and areas of improvement opportunity.
- Monitors the open purchase orders (POs) greater than 30 days for key suppliers. Contacts those suppliers to expedite shipments
- Helps resolve system inconsistencies between the company and supplier.
- Performs maintenance activities in the AWR Advanced Inventory Replenishment System as required. This includes creating part of/consist of relationships, doing mass maintenance, and tagging items in a category.
- Gathers data and provides analysis based on inventory positions and investment opportunities using the company’s mainframe systems (System 21 and AWR Advanced Inventory Replenishment System).
- Contributes to the development and enhancement of the analytics tools used in the achievement of departmental objectives.
- Performs as backup when needed to our procurement agent team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for a major in business-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience:
- 3 years of business experience, preferably in purchasing.
- Experience providing data analysis.
- Experience providing customer service to internal and/or external customers.
- Experience working with inventory preferred.
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- Strong PC skills with demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Outlook e-mail.
- Must possess analytical, problem-solving, time management, organization, and negotiation skills.
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent internal and external customer service as well as the ability to operate as a team member.
- Strong computer typing skills.
Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.
However, the pay range for this position is as follows.
