Job Summary:

Plans, implements, and coordinates maintenance and upkeep of machinery and facilities at TDS Automation. Point of contact for all construction projects. Plans, implements, and coordinates safety programs, requiring the application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe physical and environmental working conditions.


Essential Functions:

  1. Maintains and applies knowledge of current corporate and location policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  2. Represents TDS Automation in all aspects of safety and facilities maintenance.
  3. Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Quality to develop and maintain safety policies and procedures.
  4. Collaborates with Operations and Quality to develop preventative maintenance procedures as required.
  5. Conducts Safety Assessments on equipment produced and provides safety letters to our customers as a result of the assessments.
  6. Assists the Corporate Human Resources Department in data collection, reporting, and safety evaluations, including but not limited to OSHA regulations and compliance and Workers’ Compensation claims, the first report of injury, or near misses. Assists Human Resources, when applicable, with disability accommodation.
  7. Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards. Implement processes adopted.
  8. Inspects all facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  9. Assures the buildings and grounds are maintained, which entails daily and weekly cleaning schedules as well as determining and scheduling repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements, and safety inspections.
  10. Responsible for maintaining budget and negotiating with outside vendors for supplies, repairs, and other measures.
  11. Installs safety devices on machinery, or direct device installation.
  12. Investigates industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures. Coordinates applicable departments for the assessments and investigations.
  13. Reviews plans and specifications for construction of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety and facilities requirements have been met.
  14. Reports and/or reviews findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
  15. Interviews employees to obtain information about work environments, machinery operations, and workplace incidents.
  16. Evaluates adequacy of actions taken to correct health and safety inspection violations.
  17. Reviews employee safety programs to determine their adequacy.
  18. Conducts or directs testing of air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
  19. Conducts or coordinates worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment. Documents and maintains all safety training records.
  20. Maintains relationships with outside organizations, such as fire departments, mutual aid societies, and rescue teams, so that emergency responses can be facilitated.
  21. Writes and revises safety policies and maintains SDS information per OSHA & AS9100 requirements.
  22. Compiles, analyzes, and interprets statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
  23. Plans and conducts industrial hygiene research.
  24. May direct and train individuals from the same and other classifications.
  25. Effectively interact with managers, supervisors, and hourly team members across all departments.
  26. Must be willing to participate in specialized training as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  27. Maintains ALL previously mentioned records in an auditable fashion.
  28. Willingness to participate in audits both internal and external.
  29. Additional work hours as needed.
  30. Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required:

  1. High School diploma or related experience.
  2. At least 5 years of experience maintaining equipment in an industrial setting.

Preferred:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  2. 30-Hour OSHA Training
