As a Senior Buyer, responsible for purchasing raw material, packaging components, MRO and miscellaneous supplies from vendors on-time, as required by planning. The Senior Buyer is also responsible for negotiating pricing, lead time, delivery schedules and service terms with suppliers and developing inventory plans to achieve Company goals.

• Develop and evaluate materials requirement plans based on planning requirements.
• Create and update supplier forecasts and scorecards.
• Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, including negotiation of terms, purchase conditions, price escalation, and other cost-impacting factors.
• Make comparative analyses of price, delivery conditions, availability, quality of material, and new sources of supply while minimizing inventory.
• Coordinate with other departments (warehouse, receiving/inspection, quality, etc.) to ensure material availability for production schedules.
• Negotiate best cost, lead time, on-time delivery, and service scenarios, emphasizing long-term supplier relationships.
• Maintain MRP data integrity and stay updated with exception reports.
• Assist in procurement negotiations to obtain the best price, delivery, lead time, terms of payment, and purchase conditions. Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers for on-time delivery at the lowest cost while minimizing inventory.
• Make forward buy recommendations when opportunities arise.
• Perform supply chain and financial analysis on sourcing alternatives.
• Establish and maintain auditable purchase order files in compliance with quality system requirements.
• Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
• Address defective or unacceptable raw materials with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Place purchase orders on time to ensure delivery and provide prompt status information on critical orders. Expedite purchase orders as needed.
• Interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Follow established department SOPs, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university

• 7 years of work experience in a fast-paced work environment

• ERP – MRP experience required.

• Experience in supplement industry required.

• CPIM certification, Six sigma, lean manufacturing experience, preferred.

• Excellent administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)

This position is currently classified as on-site.

Base Salary Range: $72,000 - $88,000 per year, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
