Job Summary

The Integrated Product Support (IPS) Operations Program Management (OPM) team at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is looking for a Project Manager to join our team. This position reports to a program manager and is responsible for managing project scope, schedule, budget, and overall project execution for the development and delivery of sustainment aviation logistics products. E.g. Logistics Management Information (LMI) data, technical publications, and customer training products and activities. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create project plan(s) and manage resources to ensure project schedule, budget, and specification goals are attained.
  • Continually reviews status of project(s) and budgets to ensure project(s) are completed on time and within budget. Assesses project issues and develops solutions to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Act as Control Account Manager (CAM) for assigned project(s).
  • Manage and monitor project schedule, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
  • Manage Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items and ensure on time submission and/or delivery.
  • Coordinate departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services.
  • Assign and monitor the work of project management staff, providing technical support and direction when necessary.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and present results to the project management team and/or management.
  • Collaborate across management and project teams to expand services and potential business opportunities.
  • Identify and assess project risks, issues, and opportunities and develop recommendations for solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the development and quality of military technical manuals for aircraft systems.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and other regulations.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Act as a lead providing direction and guidance to employees working on assigned projects.

Job Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline and nine or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least three of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. 
  • Thorough understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management; including Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with aviation logistics products and services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
  • Experience with the development or application of technical manuals for military aircraft systems.
  • Experience with S1000D specification.
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
