Description
Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will review customer data and existing designs to develop components. The successful candidate will communicate with customers, shop personnel, sales group, and other Vantage team members. The electrical engineer will utilize their knowledge of integrated electrical systems and CAD software to complete designs for manufacturing.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Generate custom production paperwork meeting customer design requirements and applicable safety codes utilizing current engineering designs and standards.
- Provide technical customer service support (minimal travel may be required)
- Perform design analysis and experiment to improve/maintain existing products ranging from simple to complex
- Work closely with customers and salespeople to obtain job specific information, coordinate equipment and equipment space requirements, and assure A17.1/EN safety code compliance.
- Selection of purchased components and materials including working directly with vendors
- Work closely with manufacturing team on design for manufacturing
- Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment and controls
- Generate CAD submittal drawings based on sales contracts, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Test manufactured controls before they are shipped to customers
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- CAD or equivalent program experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and existing electrical drawings
- Familiarity with electronic control fabrication to UL 508 standards
- Experience with PLC programming software and principles
- Proven Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with customer on specific design criteria
- Familiarity with metal fabrication environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Must be able to pass the UL508A MTR Certification Test in 90 days
