Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is looking for an Environmental Due Diligence Manager to join our Global Enterprise Sustainability team leading a team of project managers located in Seal Beach, CA.

Our Environmental Due Diligence team partners with multiple organizations within Boeing, to include Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Global Services (BGS), and our Corporate Enterprise functions such a Global Real Estate and Corporate Development. This role involves effective leadership, collaboration & relationship management with stakeholders across these multiple organizations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees that are responsible for project management and execution of the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) due diligence reviews. This includes identification and quantification of EHS risks and Sustainability requirements and opportunities associated with Corporate mergers and acquisitions and real property transactions.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, business partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Participates in source selection and provides technical oversight of suppliers
  • Manages, leads, coaches, develops and motivates employees.
  • Support team for transactional decision making by preparing briefing reports for each transaction, communicating findings, and providing and advocating for risk management and other recommendations.
  • Provides financial and project status reviews to senior management.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with other functions, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Successfully applies knowledge of project management and/or engineering processes and practices to cost and schedule accuracy, remediation technology applications, and risk management to ensure that the technical integrity and business goals are achieved.
  • Travel (<10%), primarily between southern California sites and other out-of-state locations.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Bachelor's degree or higher (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study)
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team either formally and/or informally
  • 3+ years of experience identifying, evaluating, mitigating, and communicating environment health and safety risks associated with real property or business transactions
  • 3+ years of experience developing & delivering presentations to senior leaders
  • Experience in all Microsoft Office suite applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experienced conducting or evaluating Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) due diligence reviews, including All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) and ASTM 1527 and 1528
  • Experience in directing and evaluating supplier activities for Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments and other scopes of work of commercial and industrial sites
  • Experience managing multiple, concurrent environmental investigations of surface and subsurface media (soil, surface water and groundwater)
  • Strong leadership skills including working successfully with regulatory agency staff, leading diverse teams of technical experts, consensus building and decision making on complex regulatory/technical matters, and coordination with other responsible parties and their contractors
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with other internal and external organizations
  • Basic knowledge of Corporate Sustainability best practices
  • Experience with planning project budgets and monitoring financial performance
  • Willingness and ability to manage ambiguity and turn it into action.

Summary pay range: $120,700 - $163,300
