This is a temporary assignment for 3-6 months on a day shift schedule (6:00am - 2:30pm).

Spray coat medical implant devices in preparation for sintering heat treatment, using established procedures, to meet engineering and customer specifications. Hand-coat parts using the spatulation method as required. Inspect coated parts for acceptability with customer requirements. Perform other duties as directed by department Lead.

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to review documentation (Job Travelers) to verify part identity, quantities, and coating (e.g. binder and bead mesh size) requirements.
• Learn to prepare binder solutions as detailed in applicable Standard Process Instructions (SPIs):
• Learn to visually inspect parts to ensure that they meet customer requirements.
• Read, understand, and follow SPIs and MPIs pertaining to the porous coating of medical implant devices.
• Inspect documents for previously completed operation sign off and verify part counts before beginning any manufacturing operation. If discrepancies are found notify your Team Leader.
• Perform required maintenance checks of equipment before beginning any manufacturing operation. If problems are found notify your Team Leader.
• Prior to use, ensure measuring equipment has been calibrated, is not beyond calibration date, and is in good working condition.
• Follow established protocol to maintain ID & traceability of product and documentation. Notify your supervisor immediately if ID is questionable.
• Reference applicable drawings, specifications, and Manufacturing Process Instructions before beginning any manufacturing operation.
• Follow department Standard Process Instructions.

What You’ll Need:

• Previous work history required
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to use, or learn to use job related measuring devices (e.g. calipers and balances).
• Prior experience as a Level I Spray Coater before becoming a Level II spray coater.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings with respect to porous coating of parts.
• Ability to use, or be trained to use, comparator for overlay inspection of parts
