We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales executive to lead our outside sales teams.  The Senior Vice President of Wholesale and Contract sales is responsible for providing strategic leadership to wholesale and contract (commercial) sales teams to drive aggressive revenue, market-share, and segment growth of outdoor lines, indoor lines, and soft goods.

What You Do

  • Provides visionary leadership to the sales team, setting clear goals and objectives, and cascades to the organization.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive sales strategies aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Submits formal monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on results.
  • Monitors results and develops and implements gap-closure/corrective action plans as needed.  
  • Manages high-performing teams and cultivates key client relationships.
  • Ensures selling tools (CRM, BI, etc.) and resources are utilized to drive results and accountability.
  • Recruits, develops, and ensures adequate training of all employees to include cold calling, solution-based selling, and the nuance between designers and dealers.
  • Evaluates and implements go-to-market strategies and considers strategic resource allocation in said strategies.
  • Partners with product development and category management teams to ensure product offerings are driving revenue growth.  
  • Partners with the other channel leaders to foster a consistent customer experience.
  • Develops the distribution strategies and builds coverage in underserved wholesale markets and contract segments.
  • Orchestrates all selling-related events, including leadership of the Summer Classics and Gabby showrooms and all related market events and shows.  
  • Partners with marketing team on the development of competitive campaigns that drive awareness of product, pricing, and promotion.
  • Continually improves the effective share versus competitors and segment growth in Senior Living and Hospitality in Contract
  • Becomes a “known” and respected personality in the outdoor and indoor industry.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or closely related field, MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years’ experience in sales and five years at a senior leadership level required.
  • Prior experience in high end furniture, home furnishing or luxury goods sold through own stores, employee sales force, independent reps, independent distribution, and internet industry preferred.
  • Prior experience utilizing company employee and independent multi-line representatives.   
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fascinated and current on contemporary elements of the marketing mix and how they work together in a high-end product sales environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with structuring sales goals and revenue expectations.
  • Strong willingness to serve the customer and sell to their needs which includes the ability to understand product thoroughly and foster the development of new products to client specifications within set price points.
  • Demonstrated sales track record with high ratio of closing conversions.
  • Demonstrated ability to become a known and respected personality in our industry.
  • Must possess and valid driver’s license and be able to travel up to 75%.
