PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Supervisor, Turnaround to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.
The Turnaround Supervisor is the planning lead for Turnarounds through Execution. They manage a team of planners, coordinators, and contract partners. The Turnaround Supervisor and their team manages Turnaround Event activities to plan and coordinate execution of Safe, Quality and Efficient work which includes planning, scheduling, and cost estimating.
Job Responsibilities May Include:
- Develop, analyzes and optimizes both unit and overall schedules using P6
- Manages the planning and scheduling effort from worklist development to post project review (includes worklists, Risk Based Work Selection, budgets, schedule duration, critical path management, monitoring milestone compliance, creating progress reports and incorporation of best practices and lessons learned)
- Validates resource requirements for the total event, by unit / contractor which includes verifying accuracy of resource leveling and resource histograms
- Identifies and monitors all critical and sub-critical paths for the total event
- Generates event-level reports and assists with detail reporting (status, look-ahead, forecast)
- Ensures that delivery of long-lead equipment is in alignment with turnaround/event schedule.
- Validates purchase order changes, field change orders, delays, and standby charges
- Reviews estimates with the Turnaround Superintendent/Manager and key support personnel (Coordinators, Schedulers, etc.) before finalizing
- Provides backup and assistance for project tracking against the estimate throughout all phases. Participates in project review and status meetings
- Identifies various issues within projects, leads the development of solutions, and ensures solutions are implemented
- Interfaces with the Capital Construction Supervisor to gain alignment on field contractor selection
Position Specific Requirements:
- Work Schedule:
- Occasionally an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds)
- Participation in callout/standby coverage
- Physical Requirements:
- Climb ladders
- Walk up and down steps
- Lift 50 pounds
- Willing to Work in the Following Conditions:
- Work at heights
- Work in compact and confined spaces
- Outside in inclement weather
- While wearing a respirator or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
- Possess a valid Driver’s License

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of Turnaround experience
- 10 years of experience in a refinery or petrochemical industry
- Proficient in Turnaround Planning / Scheduling and Estimating Principles and Techniques.
- Relevant Project Management / Construction Management experience
- Proficient computer skills, including Primavera P6, SAP, Citrix Sharefile, Adobe Pro, MS Excel, MS Visio, and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge and use of procurement, accounting, contracting and QA/QC Procedures.
- Knowledgeable in basic process unit processes and process equipment (pumps, vessels, heaters, exchangers, etc.), terminology, and industry work practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in and understanding of metals crafts (piping, exchangers, vessels, scaffolding)

The salary range for this position is $101,702.39 - $180,479.24. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
