Job Description:
Responsibilities include working closely with the Sales Team, Customer Service and Credit Departments while performing a variety of accounting functions. Position is in-office, in the Farmers Branch area.
- Daily processing of concrete tickets from Command/JDE from all assigned District plant locations
- Preparing all tickets and releasing for billing
- Reconciliation of plant shipments between ticketing system, billing system, and the general ledger
- Reconciles COD/credit card and cash sales, short payments and unapplied cash
- Audits daily sales data, processes plant sales tickets and acts as primary contact for ticket issues.
- Maintains in-house log of sales tax exemption forms.
- Support to sales coordinators in regard to sales taxability issues
- Primary point of contact for all billing issues and handling of any credit and rebilling corrections.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required; some college coursework in accounting strongly preferred
- Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred - equivalent work experience will be considered
- 3-5 years related experience
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Command, JD Edwards or other ERP system experience preferred
- Keen attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and strong organizational skills
- Proven customer service focus
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Occasional day travel required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Self-motivated; able to work independently
- Highly proficient in MS programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Proficient accounting knowledge and skills
- Solid analytical skills
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills; capable of managing multiple tasks
- Customer oriented with strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Bilingual a plus
- Familiarity with JD Edwards or similar system a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended time periods
- Ability to work at least 8 -10 hours per day plus overtime as necessary
- Ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat and reach for activities such as filing
- Ability to use a PC and perform data entry activities for extended time periods
- Willingness and ability to travel locally
- Must have dependable transportation
