This opening is for a design engineer working on Grote's industry leading headlamp deicing technology which utilizes a silver ink trace deposited on the headlamp lens to create a resistive heating element. Responsibilities include:

• Working with project team members to develop new or improved deicing trace designs satisfying, customer visual appearance requirements, optical requirements, and manufacturing process requirements.
• Testing the final product to ensure the product meets the thermal/deicing and durability requirements.
• Developing/improving and documenting design and testing standards, including methods of simulating design performance.
• Working with the Manufacturing team to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the dispensing and curing process.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will have cross functional experience in mechanical and electrical engineering as well as in process design/optimization, preferably in dispensing/curing processes. Good documentation, communication, and team work are essential.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience is preferred, but entry level candidates may be considered, particularly for those with a Master's degree
