About the Role: Imagine yourself as an Automation Specialist III, ready to advance to the level of Automation Integrator. This role requires advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to explain control logic functionality and solutions to system operational conditions that affect performance. You will use engineering design documents to commission control systems, validate control loops, confirm functionality of control logic, configure end devices, and test alarms.

Responsibilities:
Operational Activity:
You will be responsible for installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation equipment.
You will maintain and repair a wide array of automation and electrical equipment associated with upstream onshore oil and gas producing operations.
You will provide on-site automation support for upstream onshore oil and gas producing operations.
You will serve as a technical resource for facility control systems and field instrumentation including level, pressure, flow, vibration, and other instruments.
You will ensure maintenance activities are executed in compliance with relevant industry and corporate Process Control standards.
You will follow PLC programming practices, standards, and MOC procedures.
You will identify problem areas with instrumentation and control systems to determine strategic improvement opportunities.
You will leverage CMMS, such as SAP, to facilitate the processes of maintenance operations.
Competencies:
Intermediate knowledge of maintaining PLC programs in function block, ladder logic, and structured text.
Intermediate knowledge of maintaining local HMI operator interfaces.
Advanced knowledge of technical standards and guidelines including API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
Ability to work responsively with limited supervision.
Ability to perform under pressure and work multiple projects concurrently.

Minimum Qualifications:
2-year Instrumentation or Automation technology degree, or equivalent technical working experience with a good track record of safety.
In lieu of a Technology degree, you must have 3 or more years as an O&G Automation Specialist, with 3 or more years of oil field Automation programming experience, along with advanced knowledge of well RTU designs, programming and troubleshooting, analog and discrete instrumentation, coupled with various serial and ethernet communication protocols.
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Rosemount software is a must.
Ability and willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation. Schedules may vary depending on location.
Ability and willingness to travel to unassigned job areas on an as-needed basis.
Must meet all conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug screening, hair follicle test, MVR, agility, and fit for duty.
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Automation or 7+ years of oilfield experience, along with 3+ years of upstream oil and gas automation experience.
Ability to read and understand Cause & Effects, wiring diagrams, control narratives.
Ability to troubleshoot control networks for well sites, well pads, tank battery, saltwater disposal, and compressor stations, using ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, fiber optics, RF communications.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs.
Walking, bending, and stooping are required.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
