1st Shift – Quality Technician

The Quality Technician works under the direction of the Quality Manager and in conjunction with the Operations group in performance of assigned duties. The Quality Technician must have the ability to perform mechanical product inspection using hand and automated inspection tools and supports data collection and quality system initiatives. The employee must follow all departmental procedures while performing accept/reject evaluations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform visual and dimensional inspection using hand and automated inspection tools.
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Must be fully competent in using hand inspection tools (ie micrometers, calipers, height gage, universal protractor, etc.)
Must be fully competent in using automated inspection tools (i.e. CMM, 2D inspection Machine, etc.)
Must be computer literate and can process and collect inspection data
Must have a great attention to detail, able to complete tasks under time constraints, be dependable and persistent in completing tasks
Must have knowledge of quality principles and be able to perform quality related tasks including planning/completing first articles.
Participate in team meetings and effectively
Will perform additional tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Qualification Requirements
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Technician role
Knowledge of and experience with hand and automated inspection equipment
Computer literate and able to process inspection data in a timely manner
One year or more quality experience working in an aerospace, military or related mechanical product facility
Experience with supplier self-release programs for aerospace (GE, Rolls Royce etc) preferred
Education
Two-year associate’s in science degree.
High School education required, will consider individuals with significant positive experience with quality initiatives without degree
