Trailer Mechanic Welder
Hale Brake & Wheel, Inc. is a full-service trailer dealership with an immediate opening at its Baltimore, MD location. We are looking for an experienced mechanic with some basic welding and fabrication skills to join our team of trailer repair professionals. Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical repairs on tank trailers that would include air brakes systems, ABS repairs, suspensions, lighting, electrical, DOT inspections and general maintenance. Welding and fabrication would be to support the mechanical repairs needed. All repairs would be expected to be made in an efficient, timely, accurate, professional, and safe manner in accordance with all Company polices DOT, OSHA and other governmental standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years technical training in metal technology, welding, fabrication or welder certification is desirable.
- Must have previous experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, and welding. Liftgate experience a plus.
- Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, welding & power tools, etc.
- Must present a professional, highly motivated, positive, results-oriented, problem-solving attitude.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Must have own hand tools.
- Must adhere to all Company policies including safety policies.
- Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test and physical.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. regularly in a safe manner.
- Physically capable of bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and putting pedestals, carts, parts, frames, and Chassis into position for prepping and priming.
- Ability to climb ladders to do work on the chassis more than 4’ off the ground.
