Position: Spiral Operator I-III
Rate: $25.51 - $28.34 + shift differential
Shift: Rotating 1st and 2nd -OR- fixed 3rd shift
*3rd shift positions will require training on 1st and 2nd shift for an extended period which could be several months


*Must be willing and flexible to work overtime when needed.*

While reporting to the shift supervisor you will work in production for our Converted Paper Products division and be responsible for working in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the process. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operating spiral machine for the production of paper cores
  • Working safely while maintaining high efficiency
  • Collaborating closely with fellow crew members and other departments and teams
  • Ensuring good quality of all products produced on the line
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area
  • Performing all duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
  • Performing all duties in support of Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
  • Helping in other departments as needed

  • Prior Machine operating experience
  • You have previous manufacturing experience and/or training (1 year preferred)
  • You read and comprehend standard work instructions, math, and measuring
  • You arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record
  • You are an individual looking to advance with a high school diploma or GED
