Position Summary

Operate the Bar Saw and properly cut material to customer specifications. Other equipment includes PVC applicator and Sheer. 

Responsibilities: 

• Performs and directs placement of material and verification of material.
• Set up, select and position saw/sheer and material properly to commence cutting.
• Make necessary changes in process as required to facilitate safe and efficient operation.
• Verify dimensions and quality of sheared and/or saw cut parts.
• Verify the quality of the PVC application so that there is complete coverage of the sheet with no wrinkles.
• Complete necessary PM reports for equipment and machinery use and perform regular daily operator maintenance to ensure uptime. 
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs as required.
• Use RF Scan Unit to move material in AS400 system.
• Work with crane operator/material handler to remove scrap and finished parts.
• Ensure material pulled from inventory is utilized effectively and returned to correct location.
• Perform regular quality/measurement checks to ensure order meet customer requirements.
• Calculate material utilization to minimize material waste.
• Maintain safe and good housekeeping in work area.
• Follow all safety policies, wear PPE and follow procedures consistently. Maintain a clean and organized work area to reduce risk of injury or material damage.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires 1 year of job-related experience. 
• Perform math using decimals to determine material optimization.
• Able to read a tape measure to the sixteenth. Experience with micrometers and calipers.
• Good communication skills, works well with others and maintains a positive attitude.
• Self-motivated, ability to perform work tasks both independently and in a team.
• Excellent attendance, on-time, and dependable.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

• Experience operating shear, saw, PVC or other cutting equipment. 
• Experience operating material handling equipment including forklift, crane a plus – Must pass evaluation before working independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs (22.7kg) maximum occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs (11.3kg). 
• Spends most of the day standing and moving around. 
• Able to climb in and out of side loaders and fork trucks.
• Bending, stooping, and pushing.
