Technical Training Manager

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement learning and development strategies to ensure our employees have the skills they need to effectively perform their jobs and build our skilled trades pipeline 
  • Partner with technical schools or other organizations to build additional programs that will support our skilled trades development
  • Identifying training needs by conducting skills gap analyses and partnering with the business to understand training needs
  • Managing technical training programs for various skill levels to ensure the most efficient delivery to reach as many employees as possible
  • Ensure technical training programs are streamlined and consistent
  • Manage hourly new hire training program 
  • Manage e-learning platforms and ensure learning is being tracked in the LMS system 
  • Resolve specific problems and tailor training programs accordingly.
  • Oversight of internal technical trainers
  • Oversight of technical training budget

Basic Requirements:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor Degree in Communications, Education, or a related training field.
  • 10+ years training experience with focus on frontline training or technical skills development
  • Proven experience managing training programs
  • Expertise in developing technical course content
  • Understanding of adult learning theories
  • Familiarity with web-based learning platforms and LMS systems
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational challenges related to skills gaps and training needs and creating strategies to address these needs
  • Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical terms in simple language at all levels of the organization
  • Positive and proactive attitude with ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Able to travel approximately 25 percent; domestic and international.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

  • Salary range for this position is $100,000 to $113,000 as well as an annual bonus plan
