Responsibilities:
Purchase the requirements of assigned products at the lowest long-term cost for the quantity, quality and delivery required by soliciting multiple bids and quotes.
Review all quotes to ensure accurate and best pricing, quality and delivery requirements set forth in SAP.
Constantly review reports to identify new purchase requisitions ensuring optimal order response time.
Quickly identify and expedite past due orders and resolve potential order delay though negotiating or finding alternates.
Communicate any delays to internal and external customers quickly ensuring top customer service.
Must serve as a liaison between customer service, management, production, engineering, internal and external customers to ensure efficient and accurate flow of information.
Constantly evaluate supplier reliability and work with each supplier to improve on time delivery, efficiency, cost, and quality.
Identify and develop new suppliers and sources for better pricing or when existing suppliers are inadequate.
Develop, analyze, and interpret current and past purchase order data to ensure cost effective pricing on future orders.
Be creative in developing and monitoring cost savings opportunities.
Look for continuous improvement opportunities to innovate/optimize supplier performance, identify obsolescence and reduce inventory.
Resolve A/P and vendor payable issues including PO vs. invoice discrepancies
- Become familiar with mechanical seal parts and designs to be able to interpret engineering drawings, sketches, or diagrams
Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- 3-4 years buying experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills
- Cross-functional business team environment experience
- Well organized and capable of multitasking.
- Experience utilizing continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, knowledge of MRP
- Must have SAP experience in purchasing
- APICS Certification a plus
- Experience with Project Management or Access is a plus.
- Travel may be required, 10% of time.
