NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.  

 

We are looking for a seasonal Quality Assurance Process Checker I to conduct in-line process Quality Checks for Industrial and Pouch Operations that may include but is not limited to coding, food safety, packaging integrity, and raw materials. Performs and understands packaging integrity testing and able to support Operations Team with corrective actions. This role will be responsible for conducting root cause analysis and providing timely feedback with solutions to Operations and Quality teams of nonconformance products/processes at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal, union position, supporting our fresh pack season, typically June – October.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audits case compression and alignment of pallets to determine case packaging integrity, and provides necessary corrective actions.
  • Performs and understands Maximum Allowable Variations (MAV) checks and offers solutions/feedback.
  • Monitors and records daily Critical Control Checks Point (CCP) to comply with HACCP plan and takes appropriate action if there is a failure in protocols.
  • Ensures shift pass down preparation is completed.
  • Maintains all required Process Checker documentation.

 

Requirements: 

  • Requires a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED), or at least one-year relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Requires computer skills and the ability to conduct mass and volume conversions and other calculations by utilizing addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averaging.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English to perform essential duties.
  • Requires reliability and an excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

 

Compensation: 

The hourly union wage is $16, with a 2nd shift differential of $.25 and a 3rd shift differential of $.50, based on experience and qualifications.
