SUMMARY & SCOPE: Operate and set up sheet splitter to properly split material to customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Order selector: Takes the work orders and brings the material from the noted location to the front / start of the sheet splitter. Returns excess material back to the location it was taken from.
- Remove all packaging material from the source skid and verify that the source skid matches what is requested on the work order.
- Mic the material and record the results and compare the result to what is requested by the customer.
- Set up, select, position, and prepare the material to be split per the quantity requested.
- Makes necessary changes in process as required to facilitate safe and efficient operation.
- Utilize the AS400 system to verify order requirements and inventory information.
- Perform quality checks to verify all counts, product is split to customer specifications and paperwork is completed accurately and timely and raise any concerns to the team lead or supervisor.
- Report all maintenance concerns to the team lead or supervisor.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear PPE.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs as required.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Self-motivated, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment putting safety first.
- Must have experience using a computer: Using a keyboard and mouse to enter data.
- Ability to perform work tasks both independently and in a team.
- Good communication skills, works well with others and maintains a positive attitude.
- Must have excellent attendance, be on-time for work, and dependable.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience operating sheet splitter, shear, saw or other cutting equipment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment including forklift. Able to operate a side loader/ crane is a plus – Must pass evaluation before working independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs (22.7kg) maximum occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs (11.3kg).
- Spends 80% of the day standing and moving around.
- Bending, stooping, and pushing.
