Job Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer II

 

Job Duties: The Raymond Corporation seeks a Continuous Improvement Engineer II in Greene, NY to work under minimal and indirect supervision to implement Process Improvement projects using Toyota Production System (TPS) and Raymond Lean Management (RLM) methodologies. Mentor and coach others on team. Work collaboratively with multiple departments on Kaizen projects to improve productivity and overall efficiency. Identify TIMWOOD Wastes by implementing Process Mapping, Swimlane diagrams and process flow diagrams. Implement a continuous improvement culture by progressing multiple departments on RLM program by coaching and training employees on improvement tools like Standardization, Kaizen, 2S/5S, Waste identification, visualization and problem solving. Coordinate cross-functionally and perform root cause analysis using 5 Whys and 8 step strips to reduce and eliminate internal and external defects. Conduct internal ISO Audits to help organization’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Conduct 2S/5S audits as per TPS/RLM standards in various manufacturing and production areas to maintain sustainability. Perform KATA with multiple departments to help leadership achieve departmental goals and improvements. Support leadership with A3 problem solving activities to reduce engineering change request defects submitted by multiple engineering departments. Participate in Jishuken event and utilize problem solving methodologies by performing genchi’s and assisting in Time-Study analysis to reduce cycle time of returned leased fork trucks. Support Kanban project at the Print Shop/G3 facility. Maintain internal company website by providing standard templates of problem-solving tools, examples of case studies and updates RLM department changes and announcement. May work from home up to 3 days per week.  Annual salary: $80,000 - $115,200.

 

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field plus 6 months of industrial engineering experience in: (1) Toyota Production System (TPS), 200 Practitioner – Application of TPS, and 300 Lean Leader – Coaching of TPS or a commercially equivalent production system; (2) SAP; and (3) Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio, VBA, and Macros. Must have demonstrated knowledge of 5S Auditor, ISO 9001 Auditor and STOP observation through work experience or education. Demonstrated knowledge may be gained prior to or concurrent with Bachelor’s degree. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
