Position Summary
Heat Treat Operator sets up, operates, or tends to heat equipment, such as heat-treating furnaces, flame-hardening the machine to temper, harden, anneal, or heat-treat metal objects.
Ensure proper heat treat cycle is used following manufacturing traveler requirements for heat, time, and cooling rate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Setup, operate and troubleshoot multiple heat treat machines.
Follow job and quality procedures.
Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures, and amounts, dimensions, and flow of materials.
Press control buttons to activate machinery and equipment.
Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
Monitor machine operations and observe lights and gauges to detect malfunctions.
Clear jams and remove defective or substandard materials or products.
Review operations and confer with Supervisor to resolve production or processing problems.
Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
Clean the machine. In particular, it cleans produce passages to prevent contamination.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
One year experience as a heat treat or furnace operator in the fastener industry preferred.
Reliable and good work ethic.
IATF 16949 knowledge.
Demonstrates effective oral communication.
Ability to adjust machine components to temperatures.
Record all change points for clarity. You will also report to your supervisor.
Able to perform physical activities that require to use the body to lift, walk, and handle material.
Prioritize, organize, and accomplish work efficiently.
Move quickly from task to task with minimal errors and/or omissions.
Always follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.

Ability to lift-up to 40 pounds.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
Ability to continuously stand and move through 8–12-hour shifts.
100% onsite. One work location.
