Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Procurement Field Representative to support the Supplier Management team based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

At Boeing, it is the responsibility of Field Representatives to proactively problem-solve and drive overall supplier recovery to ensure delivery and quality compliance. The selected candidate will ensure suppliers are meeting scheduled milestones to all our business units, and will act as a liaison, cross functionally, to protect the aircraft and delivery schedule. Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitors emergent offload/overload suppliers including processors, philanthropic, machine shop and sheet metal shop to ensure schedule compliance and product conformity
  • Identifies, establishes and maintains priorities for deliveries of products, services and data that support necessary supplier contractual corrective actions and resolution of issues (e.g., poor schedule performance, product and producibility issues) to ensure contractual compliance
  • Communicates across functions (e.g., procurement agents, suppliers, internal customers, field quality, engineering, manufacturing) to report status and concerns
  • Co-facilitates with the supplier the development of a recovery plan and unplanned demand requirements
  • Identifies needs for training on business and manufacturing practices (e.g., requirements interpretation and clarification, contractual compliance, scheduling tools, technical skills, self assessment) to supplier personnel for improvement or enhancement delivery performance
  • Participates with the procurement agent in on-site supplier assessments (e.g., Preferred Supplier Certification, Proof of Process and Rate Readiness) to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected work statement and support Boeing procurement strategy
  • Monitors suppliers' performance-to-plan to ensure compliance to contractual requirements and provides status back to supervisor and procurement agent
  • Identifies and communicates opportunities to implement new processes or improves existing processes and reports back to management and make recommendation to procurement agent
  • Assesses supplier resource plan and reports results to supervisor/procurement agent
  • Supports work movement as requested by supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft production or maintenance
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Supplier Management
  • 3+ years or experience in Project Planning; Scheduling; Project Management
  • 1+ years of experience working with Airplane interiors and/or systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 1+ years of experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • 1+ years of experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
  • 1+ years of experience working in Manufacturing Operations
  • 1+ years of experience working with Boeing production system
  • 1+ years of experience interpreting airplane drawings, procedures, and processes
  • 3+ years of experience in velocity radars and IVT

Typical Education/Experience:
Typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Summary pay range: $88,400-$119,600
