Yogi Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team on a swing or graveyard shift - to support the operation of machinery within the manufacturing facility, partner with operators for efficiency and safety and assist with the achievement of production goals. Training for this work will happen on day shift for the first 6 months of the job.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN:
Repair/Maintenance. Troubleshooting. Documentation
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment used in the production and packaging of East West Tea Company, LLC products. This includes regular inspection of equipment, structures or material, preventative maintenance, and machine repair as required. Technicians possess the necessary mechanical and general maintenance expertise and support production by ensuring smooth operation of the plant and facility. Maintenance technicians follow established work guidelines, procedures, or verbal instructions as well as independently troubleshoot and problem solve unscheduled variances. Adherence to FDA CFR 111 and all company procedures involving health, safety, and food safety while completing work is essential.
WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED:
- 3-5 years’ general mechanical experience
- Experience with low pressure, pneumatic & associated controls.
- Knowledge and use of fine measuring instruments, be able to work down to .01mm (.0005).
- Basic knowledge of the metric system.
- Food, Beverage or Dietary Supplement experience preferred but not required
- Practices in mechanical maintenance and repair & knowledge of electrical components with 24vdc---120-240vac single and three phase power sources.
- General understanding of programmable controllers (PLCs)
- Familiarity with warehouse environment exposure which includes noise, dust, forklifts, and fluctuations in temperature.
- Exposure to sounds and noise levels that would be distracting or uncomfortable
- Exposure to fine dust from organic raw materials
- Working in cramped spaces and awkward positions
- Work on production shifts, for 8-12 hour periods, including swing and or graveyard.
