POSITION SUMMARY:   While working in a manufacturing setting this position will deliver and pick up products to our customers and suppliers in a timely and safe manner. This position will coordinate all movements associated with Subcon products as well as assist in our Shipping & Receiving department with preparing products for delivery or unloading of company trucks.  

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate company vehicles to facilitate shipping and receiving operations;
• Ensure the load is correctly placed and secured within the truck;
• Responsible for daily pre/post routine vehicle inspections;
• Ability to maintain all company delivery vehicles such as periodic washing, interior cleaning, checking all vehicle fluids, and following standard maintenance schedule;
• Assist shipping with packaging goods (including stretch-wrapping pallets;)
• Provide excellent customer service and assistance to customers/suppliers in loading and unloading vehicles at destination sites;
• Assist with electronic and physical movement of the subcontracted product when returned from the supplier;
• Designated as a backup for receiving duties (receiving, put away, pick lists, etc.);
• Responsible for operating forklift to support shipping and receiving as needed;
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and quickly adapt to changing situations;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work flexible hours as needed, and handle additional tasks as assigned;
• Assist in the management of the facility’s regulated hazardous waste after completing RCRA training;
• Adhere to Employee’s responsibilities outlined in Cygnus’ Health & Safety Policy;
• Represent CMC cleanly and professionally as the “face of the company” when interacting with customers and suppliers.

Additional Skills & Responsibilities:

• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate);
• Must be 21 years of age and be able to pass and receive a DOT medical card certification per DOT regulations;
• Previous commercial driving experience is strongly preferred;
• Must maintain knowledge of RCRA Hazardous Waste Management;
• Successful completion of CMC’s forklift certification required;
• Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 75 lbs.;
• The ability to maintain a driver logbook per DOT standards;
• Adhere to all federal and state driving laws;
• Ability to read and follow written instructions;
• Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold, and/or noisy areas);
• Frequent hand-to-finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing;
• Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results).
