Job Description
Fluor is seeking an Executive Project Manager for our Advanced Technology and Life Science Division to deliver work on a massive scale and bring life changing products to the market place.We are actively involved in the following exciting industries:
• Life Science Industry: Designing production facilities for Flu Vaccines, Active Pharmaceutical
Ingredients (APIs) for important drugs, Blood Fractionation for the life-saving plasma industry, and
more.
• Advanced Technologies: Including the fast-paced Semiconductor Industry, Smart Batteries, and
Datacenters.
• Advanced Manufacturing: Foods (Sugar, Potato Chips), Beverages (Distilled Spirits), Fast Moving
Consumer Goods, and Sustainable Products and Technology.
The purpose of this position is to perform the essential project management job duties and functions as listed below with the overall objective of establishing an execution framework on the project that complies with the contract and ensures the safety, quality, value, timeliness, and Fluor profitability of the completed project.
This position performs all project management responsibilities on medium to large sized and moderate to high risk engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) projects. This position may also be assigned responsibility for a substantial area of a mega project.
When acting in the role of a Proposal Manager, this position is responsible for managing completion of technical and commercial proposals, providing project planning, means and methods of project execution and strategy, schedule preparation, cost estimating, and Project Execution and Commercial Execution Strategy.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) is emphasized throughout all phases of the project
• Ensure execution of all aspects of the project in accordance with contractual obligations, Fluor’s Operating System Requirements (OSR) and the relevant Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP)
• Ensure full compliance with Fluor prime contract with regard to client reporting, notifications, project system start-up and close-out requirements
• Establish the project baseline (as defined in the OSR), and ensure that it is fully documented, updated throughout all project phases, and appropriately communicated to Fluor project team
• Deliver the project in accordance with the project execution and commercial baselines
• Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twelve (12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (16) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
• Jobsite experience and understanding of construction safety program• Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) project management
• Project or area management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments is recommended
• Demonstration of successful performance as Project Manager delivering $200 Million+ engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/CM) projects
• Completion of all required in-house project management courses in addition to courses obtained from university or other qualified sources
• Good knowledge and experience on project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, start up, turn over work processes, sequencing, and interfaces
• Project Controls and Finance including understanding of:
- Scheduling (including work force loading)
- Progress measurement
- Risk assessment and management
- Code of accounts
- Work breakdown structure
- Change management
- Cost control
- Estimating process and planning
- Global Pricing Model (GPM), Project Status Review (PSR) and Project Margin Analysis, Report (PMAR) development and reporting
• General understanding of contract law and when to engage legal
• Regulatory requirements including permitting
• Understanding of project funding
• Experience of multiple commercial executions structures including Lump Sum/Reimbursable/Guaranteed Maximum price (Gmax)
• Proactive - goal orientated with the initiative to influence events positively, lead Fluor project team, and influence client for decision making
• Ability to resolve complex problems and to be comfortable in complex project or business environments
• Ability to set and maintain high standards of self performance with responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments and tasks
• Demonstration of innovation, initiative, maturity, and sound judgment
• Ability to influence a group of diverse individuals, each with their own goals, needs, and perspectives, to work together effectively for the good of a project
• Mobility - for example, relocating to site locations
• Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
• Certification in project management suggested, for example, Project Management Professional (PMP)
Other Job Requirements
This position will be based out of the Greenville, South Carolina design center with frequent travel to jobsites.Relocation Assistance may be available for the selected candidate.
During necessary times, the selected candidate may be required to deploy to a site location for long periods of time.
