Detroit Speed and Engineering is seeking a production welder to join our team in Mooresville, NC! The Production Welder is capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Performs work orders as assigned by department supervisor
• TIG welding Mild Steel and Aluminum
• Cuts, clips, hooks or otherwise assembles the materials to produce sub-assemblies or finished product from raw materials.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages
• Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
• Place finished goods on the designated pallet or carts
• Put received inventory into correct locations
• Internal inventory cycle counts
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• All other tasks assigned by supervisor. 

Physical demands: 

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands to feel objects and type on keyboard or work controls. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• At least 2-3 years welding experience
• Certified forklift operator
• Aluminum Welding experience
• Experience working in Automotive Manufacturing
• Welding certificate
