AUTOMATIC CUTTING OPERATOR FOR FURNITURE MANUFACTURING

An Automatic Cutting Operator sets up and operates automated cutting machines to cut fabric into parts according to specifications.

 

Responsibilities:

• Reads cutting requests to define job specifications

• Positions fabric/leather onto the table and starts the cutting machine to cut out the required pieces.

• Loads correct pattern and cutting codes in computer to be cut from work orders.

• Make sure the fabric/leather is cut to specifications.

• Monitors operation on cutting machine to detect malfunctions and informs supervisor of problems

• Removes broken or worn cutting blades as needed

• Separate cut patterns from waste and tie up covers

• Standing/walking/bending required and lifting up to 50 pounds

   

Qualifications/Skills

• 6 months or more of experience working as a auto-cutter in a production setting

• Ability to work well in a team oriented environment

• Must be 18 years of age or older
