Overview

The Assistant Track Supervisor is responsible for supervising the safe operations involving loading and unloading of railcars.  This position reports to the Track Supervisor. This position resides at the St. Rose Terminal.

Responsibilities
  • Assists overseeing the safe and efficient truck and railcar operations in the Operations Department
  • Prepare and maintain all relevant operational paperwork
  • Assist the Logistics Department with spot assignments
  • Conduct line-up checks
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Enforce company policies and procedures and initiate disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Issue Safe Work and other permits as authorized
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all pumps and pipelines
  • Perform duties assigned by the Operations Manager
  • Maintain current status as a member of the Emergency Response Team
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in field operations
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the terminal operational facilities in detail
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials) for access to IMTT’s terminal locations.

Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position.  Typical hours of operation require this position to work either day shift or evening shift as well as overtime as necessary.
  • This position requires overtime and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

  • Ability to work with chemicals, high temperatures, high pressures, over water, at height as well as climb and lift. Must be capable of wearing respirator and/or other PPE during some operations or emergencies.
