Sales and Operations Analyst - Greer, SC
Position Objective:
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Sales & Operations Analyst is responsible for driving the demand planning process and activities for Alltrista. This role cross- functionally collaborates with Sales, Operations, Project Management, Customer Service and Supply Chain to coordinate the regular Sales & Operations meetings to help drive business efficiencies. The Sales & Operations Analyst is responsible for entering and maintaining demand planning data into the S&OP tool, generating reports, and leading regularly scheduled S&OP meetings with the key stakeholders. Also, this position coordinates with the Operations team to use the demand planning data to best understand capacity and machine utilization across all factories.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collect demand planning data for key demand groups and manage this critical data in the standard S&OP tools
- Generate reports to support the regularly scheduled Sales & Operations Planning meetings
- Schedule and lead the regularly scheduled Sales & Operations Planning meetings
- Contribute to demand planning strategies, methodologies, and the deployment of new demand planning techniques.
- Deploy and train tools required to improve the demand planning process and performance results.
- Develop scenario analyses (including statistical) on demand to meet business objectives and overlay into the consensus forecast.
- Collaborate with Operations on machine utilization and capacity analysis leveraging the demand forecast data available
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, R&D and supply chain on new product additions, transitions and phase-outs.
- Develop and publish key forecast accuracy metrics. Analyze data to identify potential sources of forecast error. Develop action plans to improve performance.
- Provide input to the supply chain team to develop effective customer service and inventory strategies.
- Ensure significant forecast adjustments are communicated to supply chain on a timely basis.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations such as APICS or IBF.
- Perform other duties as management may direct.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the Department, the Company, the Corporation and the community; and maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Basic Requirements / Education / Skills:
- BS Degree in Business or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Forecasting & Statistical Modeling and/or Sales & Operations Planning processes
- Thorough knowledge in computer systems and software applications in demand management and forecasting with working knowledge of analytical techniques, including computer models and statistical evaluation systems.
- APICS Certification preferred
- High concern for detail and accuracy
- Logical decision making who can take inputs, make a rational decision, and learn from that decision
- Ability and willingness to drive change within an organization.
- Team-oriented skills as well as very good resolution skills which are needed to solve business conflicts between and among the various areas and changing business conditions.
- Ability to utilize various computer skills, including ERP systems, spreadsheets, word- processing and database software.
- The ability to analyze problems and make independent judgments to initiate corrective action or resolution.
- Demonstrate ability to display diplomacy in day-to-day interactions with commitment to task and resolution
Physical Requirements:
Sitting at workstation approximately 75 percent of work time. Standing and walking approximately 25 percent of work time.
Must be able to travel 5-10 percent of work time.
Working Conditions:
Normal workstation office environment with computer equipment, fax machine, and files and shelves overhead and about work surface.
