Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting

This Senior Accountant role is a key support role in the Finance organization that is responsible for weekly reporting and analysis of the Tyson Beef & Pork segments, and other ad-hoc activities as required from time to time. This person will assist in supporting the Beef & Pork Financial Reporting agenda in ensuring the production of timely and accurate financial reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Beef & Pork finance teams to compile and submit weekly gross margin reporting.
• Compile monthly SG&A reporting package, including PowerBI maintenance and enhancements, for Beef & Pork White Book and other management reporting tables as assigned.
• Compile monthly SG&A reconciliation for Spend Management reporting.
• Assist in maintaining FM allocations / assessments and associated master data for actuals and budget.
• Maintain Inter-Segment and Inter-Company sales schedules.
• Submit monthly General Ledger actuals to Internal Sales Reporting team.
• Various Journal Entries and Financial Close responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain and enhance Beef & Pork Balance Sheet and Working Capital dashboard.
• Support weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reporting to Management and Tyson Corporate.
• Assist in preparation of mandatory Packers & Stockyards annual report, US Census Bureau surveys, and certain quarterly governmental reports as necessary.
• Support Beef & Pork Annual Operating Plan.

Experience and Competencies

• 3 plus years financial accounting experience
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting principles required
• Relationship builder who prefers a collaborative work environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience operating within a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible, and fast-changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Preferred System and Application Experience:

• SAP, Anaplan, Power BI
• Expertise with Microsoft Office suite
