UPM Raflatac is looking for a Lab Technician to join our team located in Mills River, North Carolina

What you will do:

  • Be responsible of quality control testing of raw materials and finished products, testing of new development products in a laboratory scale and providing instructions for production trials and testing of trial products
  • Coordinate process control measurements and Statistical Process Control records as dictated by quality management system. (To include testing of second quality, customer returns and hold materials)
  • Fulfil all requirements associated with compliance to quality certifications, work to assure ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 certification and compliance
  • Work closely with and provide relevant feedback to production personnel to assure run-ability, efficiency, and quality of product
  • Assist on project teams to benefit end user products, perform other tasks specified in the Quality System
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to processes, performance, etc., evaluate as appropriate to determine and capitalize on best practices
  • Perform all tasks in full compliance with all laws, safety, and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Perform all tasks consistent with the Roles and Responsibilities defined in the company’s OHS Standards and Guidelines

Who you are:

  • You have any combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline and 1 year of experience in a testing lab
  • You are detail oriented and have demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • You have good communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively on both technical and non-technical basis
  • You are be able to function well as a member of a team. Previous project team experience preferred
  • You have intermediate computer skills
  • You have the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain standing for a couple of hours
