Value Stream Process Engineer
Role Summary
The primary objective of the Process Engineer is to lead, motivate and influence the continuous improvement culture within business. The employee will lead the lean transformation/operational improvements for Dresser Utility Solutions using continuous improvement systems, such as Lean/Six Sigma, manufacturing process optimization, and information/planning systems (such as MRP). In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others to affect short-term and long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support business objectives to improve safety and quality, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations on deliveries, and reducing cost and improving efficiency.
- Support EHS projects and ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
- Identify and improve product quality by process variation
- Be a leader of change, develop, implement, and control Continuous Improvement projects using the Lean and statistical process control
- Facilitate/Lead high impact cross functional teams for process improvement that yield significant reduction in defects increased productivity
- Facilitate goal development, planning, and monitoring progress performance
- Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track / drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues
- Develop and maintain manufacturing methods and create process routings
- Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets
- Lead and/or support demand and capacity planning improvements ranging from Master Scheduling to shop scheduling
- Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment
- Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
- Facilitate and/or Support CapEx project for new equipment or equipment upgrades from concept through installation
- Optimization of manufacturing processes according to standardized framework and procedures.
- Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other locations
- Gather and analyze process and product data for fulfillment and improvement measurement
- Support the quality function through integration of ISO / QC documentation and Manufacturing methods Instructions
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution and minimum of 5 years of manufacturing assembly and/or machining operations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in machining, manufacturing and/or operations preferred.
- Preferred: Engineering or supply chain disciplines.

- Prior manufacturing process improvement accomplishments
- Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical design ability
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite for project reporting, data gathering, and process documentation
- Desired but not required - Experience with database and automation communication languages
