Senior Quality Development Engineer

Job Summary: The Senior Quality Development Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards in our automotive manufacturing processes. This position will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance systems and processes to guarantee the production of top-tier automotive components. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to drive continuous improvement and uphold our commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance plans, procedures, and guidelines for automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and validate new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on quality performance.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components, including conducting supplier audits and assessments.
  • Provide training and support to staff on quality-related topics and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and maintain competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience with quality tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.
