UP TO A $7500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR EXPERIENCED ROAD SERVICE TECHNICIANS

 

• Perform preventative maintenance, and minor or major repairs to heavy construction or forestry equipment in the shop.
• Possess strong diagnostic and mechanical operation skills.
• Understands and implements concept of root cause analysis.
• Work in conjunction with the Service Advisor and Service Manager to provide the Service office with machine information including machine make/model, serial number, hour meter reading, parts/equipment/supplies used during the repairs and notification of any additional repairs required but not completed.
• Responsible for participation and successfully completing mandated training on or off site, or online through John Deere University and other training programs.     
• Provides service with machine make/model, serial number, hour meter reading, parts/equipment/supplies used during the course of the repairs and notification of any additional repairs required but not completed. Signs timecards for each day.
• Possesses strong diagnostic and mechanical operation skills. Understands and implements concept of root cause analysis.
• Actively participates in the Company’s safety mind frame. Is aware of one’s surroundings and wear all PPE at all times.
• Reports incidents related to near–miss, accidents or injury ASAP to proper company representative.
• Makes Service Manager aware of non-serviceable tools, equipment, or vehicles or other departmental safety concerns.
• Participates in formal scheduled or informal performance reviews. Discusses future goals or improvement plans as needed.
• Responsible for attending mandated training whether on or off site, at dealership or online and completes training materials.
• Shall not discuss any warranty items with customers regarding repairs or service, in terms of what the customer may or may not be responsible for.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must possess 3-5 years’ experience in the heavy equipment field as a service technician or mechanic.
• 3-5 years’ experience troubleshooting and diagnosing heavy equipment issues.
• Must provide his/her own tools to perform as a Service Technician. Company provides annual Tool Allowance.
• Can perform basic math and read, write and speak English. Follows instructions.
• Road Service Technician must have a clean DMV to qualify for insurance coverage under the company auto policy.
• Manages one’s own time, resources and performs to the best of their ability under all work conditions, etc.
• Ability to use laptop computer and software applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet functions.
• Ability to work flexible hours as well as work in various demanding environmental conditions.
• Communicates effectively. Can solve problems whether conceptual or concrete in nature with little to no assistance.
