Description

The Electrical Engineer 1 is responsible for assisting with the electrical design, development, and calculations of assigned manufacturing projects related to relay panels, control buildings, and medium voltage switchgears. This position will learn the engineering profession and the practical application of electrical engineering disciplines under the supervision of a Lead Electrical Engineer.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Participate in development, engineering, design, and drafting of manufacturing projects related to control buildings, relay panels, and switchgear.
• Assist in generating schematics and wiring drawings, as well as performing equipment selection for manufacturing projects.
• Assist in developing bill of materials for manufacturing projects.
• Provide engineering support to production departments during all stages of manufacturing.
• Perform analysis and generate reports, as needed. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment.
• General understanding of Electrical Safety Procedures, NEC and IEEE Codes. 
• Experience and knowledge with computers and MS office programs. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or related software.

Experience/Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power Systems required.
• At least 0-2 years of related work experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to traverse the production floor as needed.
