YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting Traffic Optimization Coordinator II opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. The Traffic Optimization Coordinator II is responsible for consolidating LTL shipments efficiently with routing to minimize freight costs and positively accommodate customer expectations. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth and timely transportation of goods, requiring effective communication with sales, plant personnel, and other Supply Chain teams. The Traffic Optimization Coordinator II acts as an escalation point and manages tasks such as changes to schedules, what-if scenarios, basic analytics, etc. as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creating and consolidating loads in transportation management system (TMS) while maintaining order management system to ensure order integrity.
- Optimize LTL orders in a set region shipping out of each plant while maintaining shipping and delivery expectations.
- Work with sales and schedulers to adjust orders for efficiency and cost savings while maintaining customer expectations regarding delivery date/time and plant inventory.
- You will be responsible for analyzing and configuring routes based off customer expectations, maximizing weight per shipment and collaborating with sales to adjust orders in the most efficient manner.
- Ability to make educated decisions based on balancing orders that are visible in the system with those you anticipate but have not received yet.
- Rerate, retender and rebook loads if changes are made to orders.
- Build metrics and develop key performance indicators that demonstrate and monetize optimal freight route and freight solve improvements to report progress and trends in freight metrics to peers and supervisors.
- Maintain and communicate holiday shipping schedule changes.
- Basic analytics related to Out of Route, Load Weights, On Time Delivery, etc. as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite including Outlook, Word, Excel
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Experience with transportation industry
- Ability to effectively problem solve
Preferred:
- Experience with load consolidation/route-building
- Advanced geographic knowledge of United States
SCHEDULE
The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
