Job Summary
The Sr Director, Global Cost Accounting monitors and identifies allowable/unallowable costs, maintains accounting policies to properly segregate expenditures, oversees monthly and quarterly close procedures, and manage cost accounting staff. Monitors and maintains accounting policies which provide compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain accurate costing methodology in ERP system.
- Oversee month end close activities closing activities related to cost accounting activities in adherence with corporate policies.
- Prepare and oversee various financial analyses related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and operational expenses for decision making support.
- Set up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and finish goods items; create and maintain
production BOMs; maintain annual &periodic cost rolls/updates - Lead and manage the quarterly excess and obsolete inventory review process. Ensure
compliance with periodic cycle counts and physical inventory and reconcile results. - Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system
requirements and internal controls to improve overall effectiveness of the company. - Responsible for G/L reconciliations for all inventory and cost of goods sold accounts.
- Leads implementation of cost accounting for new cultivation sites.
- Timely provide all auditor requests for the annual audit related to cost accounting.
- Perform other duties or special projects as requested.
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- 12+ years of related experience, with increasing level of responsibility
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, critical thinking and attention to detail
- Advanced financial reporting and planning system and Excel skills are required
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change throughout the organization
- Proven ability to effectively partner with and influence business managers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interface effectively across all levels within the organization and across functions
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while delivering accurate results in a timely manner
- Flexibility and adaptability, ability to manage in dynamic business environment with a strong sense of urgency
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Medical Device industry is preferred.
- Need strong track record of manufacturing or cost accounting experience.
Education
Bachelor’ degree in business or finance is required. MBA or CPA is preferred.
Compensation
The anticipated range for this position is $170,000 - $245,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
